Problems using aerial photography

This is new to me but from what I have read and experienced so far, it seems that the biggest problem is that looking at an aerial image is not something most humans do very often.  And if these images are in grayscale, most humans can only distinguish between 8-10 shades of gray.  They are difficult to measure and they are highly subjective to interpretation.  This would also not be a job for someone who is colorblind.  I'm sure these are only a few of the problems associated with interpreting aerial photographs.

Port Sanilac Wind Farm

I picked Port Sanilac, Michigan for my wind farm.  It is a very rural area with an average wind speed of 11 kts for most of the year, dropping slightly in late summer.  It is right next to the Port Sanalac Water Treatment Lagoon, which should keep the local residents from encroaching on this area.  

Migration of birds is minimal on the eastern side of Michigan and the nearest residence is not within 1/2 mile.

Isohyet Map

I'm not sure that I like the way this looks but it's Saturday night and everything is working very slow. I'd like to change a few things but I'm running out of time.

Immigration Map

I used the Eckert III projection, I thought it looked nice. Making the arrows looked like it would be easy, but it didn't go as smooth as I thought it would. I'm still not sure about using AI.

Non-Contiguous Map

This is the Non-Contiguous Map. I couldn't figure out what to do with the legend so I inserted a graph.

Contiguous Map

II was able to get 9 iterations out of this. I did change the classification to get the legend. This was the easier of the two. It still took several hours each.

Dot Distribution Map

There has to be an easier, quicker way to do this. I can't believe anyone would pay me to spend that many hours putting dots on a map. I would like to have done more to this map but it's late Sunday night.

Wine Consumption in Europe

I used the Europe Lambert Conformal Conic projection for this map. After I posted it, I looked at the lecture again and realized I should change my legend. So I did that and reposted it. It definitely seems to be getting easier.
